Believers are a Letter from Christ

You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.  You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:2-3

You are a letter.  Your words and your actions are a testimony to others.  If you are a child of Almighty God, you are blessed with the indwelling Holy Spirit who empowers you to live a life that honors and glorifies God.  Are you living a life that honors and glorifies your Savior and LORD?  Today can be the day that you recommit your life to your LORD and pledge to live your life as a reflection of Him.

When you and I allow the indwelling Holy Spirit complete control of all areas of our life, we will live a life filled with the fruit of the Spirit.  The Holy Spirit produces this fruit which will be evident to those around us.  Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.  When your family, friends, and co-workers read the letter of your heart are they able to see evidence of the fruit produced by the indwelling Holy Spirit?  This fruit is the very character traits found in Christ Jesus.  They are the by-products of Christ’s control of our lives.

We become Christians through God’s grace.  This unmerited favor is given to us by God.  We are unable to earn salvation.  No effort, ability, intelligent choice, or act of service can save our souls.  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast – Ephesians 2:8-10.  Out of gratitude for this free gift of salvation, we as Christians will seek to help and serve others with kindness and love.  Does the letter of your heart reveal that you love others and that you demonstrate kindness to others through meeting their needs in the name of Jesus Christ?  God has ministry works for His children to carry out.  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do – Ephesians 2:10.  Let’s demonstrate our thankfulness to our Savior and LORD as we carry out the wonderful works He has prepared for us.

We are Christ’s representatives on this earth.  In Ephesians 4:1-2, we are challenged to live a life worthy of the calling we have received.  We are children of Almighty God, called to be humble, gentle, patient, understanding, and peaceful.  As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  When others read the letter of your heart - the letter of your life, can they see Jesus Christ in you?

We need to remember that others are always watching and reading the letter of our lives.  We are making an impact on the people around us whether we realize it or not.  What type of impact or you making?  Are you representing Christ well to those around you?  Be mindful of living a life worthy of your calling.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit.  I pray that we will allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct us.  Help us to always be aware that we are Your representatives to this lost and dying world.  In Jesus Name I Pray…..Amen.
